Have you heard of ground-breaking pet tech brand Petcube?

What is Petcube?

Petcube was founded in 2012 to ‘create pet products for the 21st century’. They started out making home pet cameras, but now Petcube is so much more. Their most recent product, Petcube 2, is the ‘ultimate assistant to modern pet parents’.

Petcube Camera is a Wi-Fi home camera for pet owners. It allows them to watch, talk to and play with their pets using a built-in laser pointer toy from a smartphone anytime, anywhere. Through Petcube mobile app, people can share access to their Petcube Cameras so other pet lovers can interact with their pets.

Petcube is also building a huge pet-loving community with their app. Anyone who loves pets needs the amazing PetCube app in their life! (Seriously, whether you own a pet or not, you’ll soon be wondering how you made it through the day without it).

Check up on your pet when you’re away

We’ve all felt that moment of panic after leaving our pets at home alone. No matter how careful you are, there are always those niggling worries at the back of your mind. Did you move that box of chocolates onto a shelf out of reach? Did you latch that window securely?

The HD camera in Petcube’s home monitoring devices lets you check in on your pet with ease. Wherever you are in the world, you can simply bring up the app and open a direct feed to your home camera.  Breathe a sigh of relief when you see your fur-kid curled up on the sofa. (Well, unless he’s not allowed on the sofa…)

Interact and play games with your pet

Does your fur-kid give you those sad puppy dog every time you have to leave him on his own for a while? Classic home pet cameras allow you to monitor that your pet is ok but that’s all. Wouldn’t it be cool if you could interact with your pet remotely? With PetCube 2 you can do just that.

The cat version comes with an in-built laser toy that can be activated remotely on your phone. Meanwhile, the dog version comes with an inbuilt treat dispenser. A great way to cheer your lonely pup up and help him cope with separation anxiety.

Cat & Dog Petcubes

Both the cat and dog Petcubes also feature two-way communication. You can say hi to your pal, tell him he’s a good boy or even warn him to stop chewing on the house plants (or sitting on that darn sofa!) If you choose, you can make your pet’s feed available to other Petcube app users so they can play with or talk to your pet when you are away. This leads us to the most awesome thing about PetCube…

You can play with shelter pets!

Yes, you read that right. This has to be the best feature of Petcube. No matter where you are in the world, you can take some time out to ‘play’ with a shelter pet from your phone. Just like the at-home version, you can interact with the shelter pets and even play games with them. I’ve just spent a very entertaining half-hour playing with a group of adorable kitties at OrphanPets in the US.

The best thing of all is that, if you live close to the shelter and the cat or dog is available, you can even reserve a pet you’ve made a special bond with. Isn’t that awesome? Kudos to Petcube for creating this amazing feature.

Join a community of dog mad ‘Petcubers’

Do you get the feeling your colleagues at work are a little bored of your never-ending stream of pet pictures and videos? On the Petcube app, you can share your most adorable video clips and photos with people who will really appreciate them!  The Petcube community is just as dog and cat mad as you are. They’ll lap up your pet clips and photos and follow your little guy. You’re sure to make new friends from all over the world.

Live streaming for pet superstars

There are tonnes of celebrity pets on Petcube you can follow using the app.  If you think your own pup or kitty has the ‘wow factor’ you can even turn them into a star too. Start building that fan base and let your pet’s brilliance shine!

The future of Petcube

Petcube has a very ambitious mission statement on its website. They want to get all pets connected to the internet and give them a voice. The future of pet ownership is all about an interconnected pet ‘ecosystem’ of three layers. As they put it:  ‘The first one is smart pet devices, including cameras, collars, feeders, and others. The second one is a set of algorithms, that get insights from the data, collected by devices. And the third one is a pool of products and applications, that can be personalized for your pet, based on the insights received.’

Sounds exciting huh? We too are looking forward to seeing what they come up with next!
